Welcome to the very first episode of "Trackside with Slacker", where we hit the dirt with local motocross riders to talk all things suspension! Each month, our Slacker Crew heads to a different motocross track to chat with riders, learn about their setups, and see how they fine-tune their bikes for peak performance.
Kicking Off at Fox Raceway
For our debut episode, we made our way to Fox Raceway in Pala, California, a legendary track known for its deep ruts, technical jumps, and fast-paced layout. It’s a favorite among both amateur and pro riders, making it the perfect place to dive into the world of suspension setup.
Talking Suspension with Local Riders
At the track, we met an awesome group of riders eager to share their experiences and challenges with their bike setups. Suspension can make or break a ride and dialing it in properly is key to maximizing performance and comfort on the track. From weekend warriors to serious racers, everyone had a unique perspective on how their suspension played a role in their riding style.
Key Takeaways from the Riders:
🔹 Bike Balance Matters – A well-balanced bike translates to better cornering, stability, and control.
🔹 Fine-Tuning for Conditions – Suspension adjustments depend on track conditions, and Fox Raceway’s mix of rough sections and smooth straights made for interesting discussions.
🔹 The Slacker Advantage – Riders shared how Slacker helps them get precise, repeatable suspension measurements, allowing them to make quick adjustments and improve their setup whenever, and wherever they want.
Epic Riding and Action Shots
Of course, no trip to the track is complete without catching some high-flying action! We got some incredible footage of riders shredding the course, hitting big jumps, and railing corners like pros. The energy and passion of the motocross community were on full display, and it was inspiring to see how dedicated these riders are to perfecting their setups.
What’s Next?
This is just the beginning of our Trackside with Slacker series! Next month, we’ll be heading to another top motocross track to meet more riders, dive deeper into suspension setups, and continue helping riders get the most out of their bikes.
Stay tuned, and if you see the Slacker Crew at a track near you, stop by and say hi!

John Irwin
Jeff Cernic here in Johnstown PA has a really nice mx track about 15 miles NW of Johnstown right off route 22. It’s called Pleasure Valley Raceway. I used to be a flagger there years ago. You can look at Cernics cycle world website and they have a Facebook page for the track too. Cernics Cycle World, Johnstown PA and Pleasure Valley Raceway both owned by Jeff Cernic. Pastrana raced there in his amateur days. Probably many others who made the big time also. I love my Slacker. It stays in my van
